J Nat Med. 2020 Mar 23;: Authors: Juliawaty LD, Ra'idah PN, Abdurrahman S, Hermawati E, Alni A, Tan MI, Ishikawa H, Syah YM Abstract Three new 5,6-dihydro-α-pyrones derivatives, named (S)-rugulactone (1) pulchrinervialactone A (2), and pulchrinervialactone B (4), along with one known pyrone, cryptobrachytone C (3), and three known amide derivatives (5-7) have been isolated from the leaves of Cryptocarya pulchrinervia. The structures of 1-7 were elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic data and comparison with literatures. The configurations of compounds 3 and 4 were established by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. This is also the first report in finding (S)-rugulactone (1) as a natural product. In addition, the preliminary cytotoxic activity of the isolated compounds was evaluated against P-388 cells using the [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide] assay. All the pyrones, except compound 4, were active significantly inhibiting the growth of P-388 cells, while the amides derivatives (5-7) showed moderate to weak activities. Ginus dapat menembus jurnal internasional Drug and Chemical Toxicology dimana selama pengajuan tidak ada satupun reviewer yang mengkritik tehnik stereologi yang dterapkan. Bahkan reviewer memberikan komentar “..statistics are sound and well reported”….Hmm…rasanya menjadi menjadi obat mujarab untuk semua kelelahan yang telah kita lakukan.”

An ethanolic turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) extract containing curcumin has been reported to produce antioxidant effects. OBJECTIVE: The present study aims to investigate the possible neuroprotective effects of the ethanolic turmeric extract against trimethyltin (TMT)-induced oxidative stress in Sprague Dawley rats. METHODS: The ethanolic turmeric extract and citicoline were administered to the TMT exposed rats from day 1 to day 28 of the experiment. The TMT injection was administered on day 8 of the experiment. The plasma and brain malondialdehyde (MDA) and reduced glutathione (GSH) levels, and the activities of the superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) enzymes in the brain were examined at the end of the experiment. RESULTS: The administration of 200 mg/kg bw of the ethanolic turmeric extract prevented oxidative stress by decreasing the plasma and brain MDA levels and increasing the SOD, CAT, and GPx enzyme activities and GSH levels in the brain. These effects seem to be comparable to those of citicoline. DISCUSSION: The ethanolic turmeric extract at a dose of 200 mg/kg bw may exert neuroprotective effects on TMT-exposed Sprague Dawley rats by preventing them from oxidative stress.PMID: 29513140 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher […]
